“How can the Munch Museum, based on its collections, engage young adults in Oslo and the surrounding area in art experiences that break down formal museum barriers and feel relevant on a personal level?”

KAMMERET aims to challenge young people (especially men) to test their ethical boundaries in the hope of sparking conversations about art.

In a room, three works by Munch are displayed, one of which is an original (as far as the participant knows). They have the opportunity to destroy one of the paintings without consequences or leave the room without any damage. If they choose to destroy a painting, they will hear the backstory of the destroyed artwork.

Testing and prototyping showed that discussions arose regardless of the choice made. These discussions often took the form of defense or reflection.

The solution draws inspiration from Marina Abramovic's famous work, 'Rhythm 0.' It´s also inspired by climate activists who threw liquids on famous paintings, which was a relevant topic in the news when the concept was developed.
